States and TCG Player.com 5k!

State Champs are just around the corner (October 13th) and are being run at the store level by Legion Games in Minnesota and Misty Mountain in Wisconsin!

And following your State champ weekend is a Magic $5k in Minneapolis.  We’re holding this at the Minneapolis Convention center downtown.  The main event is a guaranteed $5k and we’ll have more cash side events plus 8 player drafts, etc running all day!

Look for more TCGPlayer 5ks in WI/MN in the coming months. I expect to be doing one in the area every few months!

Hope to see you out at these events!

Event update, Aug 7th, 2012

I just locked a venue for a TCG player MaxPoint Diamond (5k) event in Minneapolis for Oct 20th. It will be at the Minneapolis Convention center, room 103. Look for an event page in the coming days.  I’m looking at the feasibility of running a “day 2” sealed or Draft event at our store location in Burnsville. Let me know if that is something that interests you!

MC5 is rolling… or should i say sailing… along.  Over 40 people booked already for the 5th magic cruise.  Who doesnt want to be part of the first Prerelease at sea!!!! Booking info can be found on the MC5 page!

Grand Prix San Antonio is fast approaching. I just locked all my vendors (we’ll have 8) which span the country. From California to Connecticut and from Florida to Vancouver, dealers will be showing up to buy and sell you cards! Artist Richard Kane Ferguson is coming, and I’m still looking for another artist or 2 for this event.  The Side event schedule is being fleshed out but WILL include a TCG player MaxPoint Diamond (5k) event on Sunday!

lots of fun new stuff happening over at Legion Supplies too… go check us out there and “like” both Legion Events and Legion Supplies on facebook to get updates in your facebook feed!

MC5 Booking Update

We’ve had some reports of people calling in and being told they couldn’t book at specific time because we are part of a group. I spoke with the Carnival agent who I’ve been working with (Monica), and she graciously offered her personal extension to help alleviate this issue. Some Carnival agents are only trained for individual bookings, so at the main number, you might get one of those. You can try either of the extensions listed below to get directly to a group booking agent. You will still need to provide the Group Booking Number (30BBL6), your name (as it appears on your passport), zip code, date of birth, email address, and credit card number. It helps to have as much of that information ready prior to calling as possible. If these additional numbers still do not allow you to book because of scheduling reasons (i.e., international cruisers), please contact me directly, and I will be happy to help facilitate the process.

Monica: 800.764.7314 ext. 41931 (she works some split shifts, including Saturdays, from 12-5pm and 9-midnight (EST))

Group Service Line: 800.764.7314 ext. 70480

MC5 first details!

Well we’re there!  We’ve got everything arranged. We had to wait for confirmation from the mother ship that what we intended to do would/could work.  It’s been a twitchy couple days waiting to make the announcement.

The info on the MC5 page here… is LIVE

I’ll quick give you the details.  Who’s our announced VIP?  A PRERELEASE.  That’s right, for the first time ever we’ll be playing a Magic Prerelease as we sail the ocean blue during MC5.  Go read the details on the MC5 page. Share it with your friends, and come join us on the boat!

Bad news time – No RKF

Hey folks,

Many of you are as pumped as I am about Richard Kane Ferguson coming to GP MN.  Regrettably, he is NOT going to make the show. His father passed away yesterday, so he will not be able to make the trip.

We wish Richard and his Family the best in this tough time for them, and we’ll try hard to get him out to another Event when he can make it.
