Grand Prix Oklahoma City Hotel block

The Travel info page has been updated with the Hotel block info for GP OKC.

Courtyard Oklahoma City Downtown
2 West Reno Avenue
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73102 USA

The Courtyard is the closest possible Hotel at the best rate I was able to secure (other hotels around are 20% or more higher than this rate.

There is a rowing competition downtown in OKC the same weekend as GP OKC and rooms will be expected to move quickly in the coming weeks. I highly recommend getting on and reserving a room as quickly as possible!   I have extended our reservation deadline until Wednesday Sept 18th. If we fill up our block, I will have more rooms added until the hotel is sold out (and it is expected to sell out).

Don’t wait!

GP KC Wrap up

Hey folks,

Thanks to everyone who came out and saw us at the GP in Kansas City this past weekend.  it was a fantastic time and the crowd was very strong considering KC was on the last of 5 weeks in a row of us GPs!

The venue was fantastic, the food was great, the people were midwest nice. Nothing beats a Midwest crowd!

Next up is Oklahoma City. See you all in October!

Preregistrations are rolling in!

While we obviously wont see Vegas numbers, it’s been interesting watching the shift to preregistration that has happened for the last few GPS and I am experiencing for the first time here.

Approximately 100 preregistrations have happened since yesterday afternoon. That puts the current total approaching 300. somewhere around 5x the amount of preregistrations I typically get for a GP. I believe this is attributed to the new system which allows me to collect the DCI number on registration reliably, making this an ACTUAL preregistration, not just a prepayment.  Guaranteeing the “freebies” which I’ve always done to the preregistered people (well, unless we run out there, which seems unlikely at this point, I’d need to 3x the numbers registered right now to run out in the next 36 hours).

Remember folks, we’ll still have to have your consent forms and decklists… which we will collect at player meeting.  You can print out a decklist here. and youe can print out a consent form (to allow your name to be put in online pairings and coverage) HERE. Note this form is double sided so please print it to a single sheet, 1 side each side of  the page, stapling/taping forms together gets icky when dealing with 1000 people!
See you all in 2 days!

GP KC Preregistration closes on July 4!

We’re taking preregistration online up through end of day July 4th.  They’re starting to roll in pretty fast this week.  We’ve still got plenty of mats, foils and bonus swag for anyone who preregisters!

Preregistering online gets you registered for the event, all you need to do is show up at the venue for the player meeting at 10am (later if you paid for the sleep in special and have byes!). We’ll collect your decklist there and off we go!  Stop by registration any time friday or saturday for your reserved foil, mat and the extra bonus! (Shhhh still a secret :))

See you all in KC!
